SAVE THE DATE FOR NERC 2012 Conference

The 43rd Northeast Regional Conference on the Social Studies (NERC) will be held in Sturbridge, Massachusetts from April 3-5, 2012. The title of the conference is 21st Century Learning: The Role and Future of Social Studies. The site will be the Sturbridge Host Hotel and Conference Center (the same location as this year’s 2011 NERC). The sponsoring Connecticut Council for the Social Studies (CCSS) is planning to have an outstanding conference involving participants from all of New England, New York, and New Jersey. With some unique attractions of Connecticut and the area around Sturbridge, the conference should be unique and rewarding experience for all participants. Please visit: http://www.ctsocialstudies.org for the latest information about the conference.

The NHCSS fall conference will be held on October 27, 2011 at the The Radisson Hotel/Center of NH in Manchester.

Put us on your calendar and make plans to join us for an exciting day of speakers, prizes and time with colleagues from around the state.

***If you know a colleague who could offer a workshop in an area you are interested in, ask them to submit a proposal or send me the information and I will ask them to submit a proposal.

If you can offer a workshop, don’t be bashful. Classroom teachers usually present the best workshops! Also, presenters get free admission to the conference and free membership for a year.***
