Begin the Summer with a high-interest technology-rich workshop-

Monday & Tuesday, June 27 and 28, 2011
Hopkinton Middle High School

Through direct instruction and guided exploration, 15 New Hampshire teachers will:

Explore on-line digital mapping technology (ArcGIS Explorer On-Line) modify existing lessons and create new lessons that can be used in their own classrooms.

Use GPS hand-held units in the field, and learn how to borrow a full set for classroom use. Teachers will also learn how to access data acquired by the hand-held units to create maps of local interest.

Learn to use ArcGIS through implementation of modules of instruction from existing published lessons in “Mapping Our World”. Participants will have a site-license for ArcGIS to take back to their school.

Import and manipulate images and data for effective display in GIS formats.
